• • <br />MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />of the <br />LA FORTE CITY CON,M/SS/ON, LA PORTS, TEXAS <br />August 16, 1965 <br />MEMBERS OF THE COMM/SS/ON PRESENT: Mayor H. P. Pfeiffer, <br />Commissioners Russell Shepherd, Tom W. Osburn, <br />Lois Compton, and W. A. Stabs, Jr. <br />MEMBERS OF THE CO/~1/SS/ON ABSENT: None <br />OTNER CITY OFF/C/ALS PRESENT: City Attorney Knox Asktns, <br />City Engineer H. Carlos Smith, and City Clerk <br />Marilyn Kelley. <br />OTHERS PRESENT: Ernest L. Brown, Jr. <br />PRESIDING: Mayor Pfeiffer <br />+ + + <br />1. Minutes of the regular meeting of August 2, 1965 were <br />approved as written. <br />+ + + <br />2. Bids were received for the purchase of a diesel powered <br />tractor with backhoe and loader. (See Exhibif 1). <br />Commissioner Compton made a motion, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Osburn that the bids be tabled for further <br />study. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />3. Bids for the relocation of steel tanks were received from <br />Federal Tank Company and Mc CunePatnt Company. (See <br />Exhibit 2). A motion was made by Commissioner Osburn, <br />seconded by Commissioner Stabs and carried that the <br />bids be tabled. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />4. A letter from Mr. Buck Thomas, requesting the ctostng <br />of the street between Blocks 51 and 304, was read. <br />Commissioner Osburn made a mottos, seconded by Commis- <br />sioner Stabs that the request be turned over to the <br />City Engineer for further study. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />5. Bids were received for the deposit of Bond Funds. <br />(See Exhibit 3). A motion was made by Commissioner <br />Osburn and seconded by Commissioner Stabs that Mr. <br />Ernest Brown analyze the three highest bids and that <br />the City Clerk be authorized to invest the funds with <br />the best of the three. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />
