A motion was made by Commissioner Compton, and seconded by <br />Commissioner Shepherd that the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized <br />to execute a Lein release for Randell Johnson, Lots 23, 24 Block <br />69 Bayfront. Commissioner Boyle made a motion, seconded by Commissioner Stabs <br />that a letter be written to the State Highway Department approving <br />the use of West "D" Street by the Texas Highway Department to <br />enlarge, deepen and otherewise improve the existing drainage <br />ditch for drainage of new State Highway 146 from 10th Street to Little <br />Cedar Bayor. Motion carried. <br />+ + + <br />6. The Commission authorized that a series of Collection letters be <br />prepared and mailed to persons with delinquent accounts. <br />+ + + <br />7. Commissioner Shepherd made a motion, seconded by Commissioner <br />Compton that Estimate #{2 for John G. Holland, in the amount of <br />X10,672.20, be approved for payment. A motion was made by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner <br />Stabs that Guree Hawkins be authorized to attend the Southwest <br />Regional Short School, August 21 thru 24, in Beaumont. The City Engineer advised the Commission that the street paving bids <br />were high, and all the work cannot be done wtth the available money. <br />Commissioner Stabs made a motion, seconded by Commissioner aoyle <br />and carried that all bids on the paving and Strom sewer work be <br />rejected.
