Crofoot read the following bids received for <br />remodeling the police office: <br />Moore & Moore £1,315.00 <br />La Porte construction 1,205.00 <br />Motion by Comm. Crofoot, seconded by Comm. Kibodeaux <br />to accept the low bid from La :Forte Construction. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />12. Mayor Smith reed an ordinance allowing Municipal <br />Court fines to be paid by installment. Motion by <br />Comm. Sampson, seconded by Comm. Thomas to postpone <br />the ordinance for additional study. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• + + + <br />13. Motion by Comm. Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. Crofoot <br />to have engineering plans prepared and to accept bids <br />for both labor and materials and on labor only, with <br />the city furnishing the material, July 12, 191 at <br />x:00 P.M., for water and sewer service to thirty-one <br />C31) new homes being built by Mr. Akard Beall of <br />Lakewood Development Company. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux, Sampson <br />and Crofoot. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />14. Discussion was held on resubmitting the bond issue. <br />Mayor Smith stated if the Commission agreed to <br />resubmitting the bond issue, it should be done <br />before October, 191. He pointed out several <br />things the city needs to do and cannot because <br />of insufficient funds. He stated unless a bond <br />proposal can be passed the city will be forced <br />to raise taxes. <br /> <br />• Commissioners Thomas, Kibodeaux and Sampson <br />
