Kibodeaux, seconded by Comm. <br />Price to approve the accounts payable as <br />presented, with the addition of the City <br />Attorney's bill in the amount of $888.00 <br />which had been omitted from the list, a <br />copy of the accounts payable is attached <br />to and made a part of these minutes. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />3. J. B. Williamson, Municipal Court Judge, <br />addressed the Commission in regards to <br />a supervised work program for city prisoners.. <br />who are unable to pay their fines. Judge <br />Williamson stated the cost to the city, <br />just to feed the prisoners amounted to nearly <br />$50.00 for the ones that spends 11 to 12 <br />days in jail. He said if these prisoners <br />could work out their fines, instead of being <br />confined to jail, he felt both the city and <br />the prisoner would benefit. <br />Mayor Thomas questioned if the city would have <br />to provide uniforms and insurance coverage for <br />the prisoners. He asked Judge Williamson and <br />Chief Freeman to study the possibility of the <br />city participating in the program and report <br />their findings to the Commission. <br />+ + + <br />4. Mr. Wesley Kooken, 105 West "D", addressed <br />the Commission in regards to his property <br />being flooded during the heavy rains. He <br />said that both his home and his business, <br />located at "D" and S.
