<br />r: <br />Special Meeting 12/17/73 - continued <br />2. The special meeting of the City Commission was <br />reconvened by Mayor Thomas at 7:18 p.m. <br />+ + + <br />3. Mayor Thomas asked if there was anyone wishing <br />to address the Commission in regards to the <br />proposed annexation. <br />Mr. James Robertson, representing Shindler-Cummins, <br />addressed the Commission and stated his clients owned <br />all of the property west of Highway 146 which was <br />included in the proposed annexation and they felt <br />the annexation was too premature as the City has <br />no immediate plans for the area. He stated his <br />clients could not understand why an area east of <br />the highway was not included in Tract 2 of the <br />annexation. <br />• <br />Ordinance No. 978 was read by the City Attorney. <br />Motion by Comm. Christensen, seconded by Comm. <br />Price to adopt Ordinance No. 978 as read. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, Price <br />and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />CAPTION: <br />AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING ON FINAL READING THE HEREIN- <br />AFTER DESCRIBED TERRITORY TO THE CITY OF LA PORTE, <br />AND EXTENDING THE BOUNDRY LIMITS OF THE SAID CITY <br />OF LA PORTE, TEXAS; PROVIDING A SAVINGS CLAUSE; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />4.
