~ ~ • Regular Meeting - 7/1/74 - Continued c: (B) Mr. Robert Cline, Director of Public Works, stated that he had attended an OSHA (Occupational Safety & Health Act) Meeting. He was not happy with the results and felt it was coming to municipalities. He further stated there were people available to help cities with this, at no cost, and felt we should have someone come down to discuss this and help the City now. (D) Mayor Thomas stated that on Tuesday, June 25, 1974, and Wednesday, June 26, 1974, meetings were attended in Austin. • Tuesday, June 25, 1974 - The Pasadena Chamber of Commerce went to Austin to talk to the Highway Commission about the Beltway 8 Bridge Funding. There were representatives from La Porte, Galena Park, Deer Park, South Houston, Baytown Chamber of Commerce, Port Commission of Houston and Dr. Spencer of San Jacinto College. Mr. Chet Brooks presented the request to the Highway Department. The State Highway Department is in sympathy with us and is going to try and get funds toward the bridge being built.
