BRINSON SURVEY - Mr. Askins read the <br />ordinance in full. Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, <br />seconded by Commissioner Christensen to adopt <br />Ordinance No. 780-U as read. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. 780, <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE <br />CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN <br />DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />9. ORDINANCE NO. 999 ADOPTING BUDGET AND SETTING TAX <br />• RATE FOR FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1974, AND <br />ENDING SEPTEMBER 30, 1975. Mr. Askins read the <br />ordinance in full. Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, <br />seconded by Commissioner Price to adopt Ordinance <br />No. 999 as read. Motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE MAKING APPROPRIATIONS FOR SUPPORT <br />OF THE GOVERNMENT OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, FOR THE <br />FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING OCTOBER 1, 1974 AND ENDING <br />SEPTEMBER 30, 1975, AND LEVYING A TAX OF $.92 ON EACH <br />$100.00 OF ASSESSED VALUE OF ALL REAL AND PERSONAL <br />PROPERTY LOCATED WITHIN SAID CITY. <br />BUDGET MESSAGE - Mayor Thomas read his budget message, <br />in w is he stated that because of payment by the Industrial <br />Complexes and the anticipated collection rate of 98~ for <br />1974 taxes, it would not be necessary to increase the <br />tax rate. He further stated that the budget included a <br />wage increase of 4~ for City employees, plus an additional <br />4$ to be contributed to the employees Texas Municipal <br />Retirement System. This would make a salary raise of <br />approximately 8~. <br />
