DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - Commissioner <br />Christensen stated that the City needed some new <br />tables and folding chairs at the Civic Center. <br />Quotations had been obtained as follows: <br />12 - 2-1/2' x 6' Tables <br />100 - Folding Chairs <br />Total for both - $1,020.00 - Mathern's <br />Total for both - $1,132.40 - Hughes <br />Total for both - $1,133.68 - Texas Office Supply <br />Motion by Commissioner Christensen, seconded by <br />Commissioner Kibodeaux to authorize the purchase of <br />the tables and chairs from the low bidder, Mathern's, <br />in the amount of $1,020.00 and the funds to come from <br />the Parks and Recreation Miscellaneous Equipment Fund. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />• <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAY5: None. <br />+ + + <br />(B) REPLACEMENT OF WRECKED POLICE UNIT - Motion by <br />Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Boyle to authorize the Mayor and Police Chief <br />to purchase the automobile to replace the wrecked <br />police unit, from the low bidder of the four <br />automobiles, if the fifth car price was the same <br />as the other four. Motion carried by the following <br />vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Christensen, Kibodeaux, <br />Price, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />(C) ENGINEERS REPORT - Mr. A. J. Busch was recognized <br />and stated that it was of interest of the Commission <br />to know that the Airport Grant papers had been <br />executed and sent to the appropriate agencies. He <br />further stated that he expected to hear promptly <br />from the F.A.A. and the Texas Aeronautic Commission <br />in response to the application. <br />• <br />
