• <br /> <br />• Regular Meeting 5/19/75 4 <br />6. CONSIDER RESOLUTION NO. 75-3 EMPLOYING WM. V. BALLEW, JR. <br />AS SPECIAL COUNSEL (CONTINUED) - <br />Ordinance No. 1018 as read. It was determined that an <br />ordinance was needed rather than a resolution. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />ORDINANCE NO. 1018 <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE MAKING CERTAIN FINDINGS CONCERNING <br />CERTAIN LANDS DESCRIBED IN SAID ORDINANCE; <br />DETERMINING THAT SUCH LANDS ARE NEEDED FOR PUBLIC <br />USE FOR STREET, ROAD AND HIGHWAY PURPOSES FOR THE <br />CONSTRUCTION OF A GRADE SEPARATION AT THE INTER- <br />SECTION OF SPENCER HIGHWAY AND THE SOUTHERN PACIFIC <br />TRANSPORTATION COMPANY'S RAILROAD TRACKS WITHIN <br />THE CITY OF LA PORTE; EMPLOYING AND AUTHORIZING <br />WILLIAM V. BALLEW, JR., AS SPECIAL COUNSEL FOR THE <br />CITY OF LA PORTE TO BRING EMINENT DOMAIN PROCEEDINGS <br />TO ACQUIRE SUCH LANDS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />• DATE HEREOF. <br />+ + + <br />7. CONSIDER APPROVAL OF NEW RESERVE OFFICERS FOR THE POLICE <br />DEPARTMENT - Motion by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by <br />Commissioner Cline to approve the following new reserve <br />officers for the Police Department: Thomas Neeley, <br />Jerome McCown, Kevin Graves, and Evelyn Mosley. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br /> <br />
