DISCUSSION OF DEPARTMENT PROJECTS - Commissioner Love <br />was of the opinion that it was as much of a sin to under <br />spend the budget as over spend the budget. <br />Commissioner Boyle - Commissioner Boyle asked why an <br />auxiliary motor was not put in when the new well was <br />started? After a brief discussion, the City Engineer <br />was authorized to make a recommendation regarding an <br />auxiliary motor or a trailer mounted motor generator <br />for power source for the new water well. <br />Commissioner Boyle requeste that the local newspaper <br />print another smoke testing notice in the paper and that <br />the engineer have his crews notify the Fire Department <br />where the smoke testing would be done. <br />Mr. Broussard informed the Commission that a bill <br />h~ been received for five pagers and the bill. <br />was from Reach Electronics in the amount of $1,007.50. <br />Motion by Commissioner Boyle, seconded by Commissioner <br />Cline to authorize the payment for five pagers to <br />• Reach Electronics in the amount of $1007.50. Motion <br />carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Cline and Boyle. <br />NAYS: None. <br />Mr. Broussard stated that he had received a letter from <br />Mrs. Evelyn Kennedy of the La Porte Bayshore Neighborhood <br />Centers, requesting an additional $1,000.00 which was <br />supposedly budgeted. He found no funds budgeted. <br />After a brief discussion, it was determined that <br />Commissioner Love would meet with Mrs. Kennedy and <br />see if something could be worked out. <br />Mr. Busch expressed his appreciation to the Commission <br />for renewing the engineering contract. <br /> <br />
