0 . <br />• Regular Meeting 5/17/76 3 <br />7. CONSIDER REQUEST OF BUILDERS SUPPLY - 16TH STREET - TO <br />FURNISH WATER - 6-INCH WATER LINE FOR WATER SUPPLY AND <br />FIRE PROTECTION - Mr. W. D. Dorsett, General Superintendent <br />for Builders Supply in La Porte, was recognized and requested <br />the City of La Porte to furnish water for Builders Supply's <br />concrete operation on 16th Street. <br />There was a lengthy discussion regarding the conditions of <br />the wells, the possible use of surface water and the <br />requirements of the Subsidence Board. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner <br />Love to deny the request of Builders Supply for the City to <br />furnish water, but an emergency supply could be furnished <br />until a new well could be drilled. Motion carried by the <br />following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />8. CONSIDER WATER LINE FOR COUNTY LAND FILL -After a brief <br />discussion, motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by <br />Commissioner Cline to authorize a 8"-water line for the <br />county land fill, to be paid for by the County, and that <br />the funds would be in the bank before the project is begun. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />9. CONSIDER AUTHORIZING BUSCH-HUTCHISON TO PREPARE A SURVEY <br />ON SURFACE WATER FOR SUBSIDENCE BOARD - Motion by Commissioner <br />Cline, seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux to authorize Busch - <br />Hutchison to prepare a survey on Surface Water for the <br />Subsidence Board at an estimated cost of $4,200.00. A copy <br />of the proposal is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Love, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />• NAYS: None. <br />
