FOR TWO PATROL UNITS <br />FOR THE POLICE DEPARTMENT - Motion by Commissioner Simons, <br />seconded by Commissioner Tomerlin, to authorize advertising <br />and accepting bids to be received on July 5, 1977, at 7:00 P.M. <br />for two patrol units for the Police Department. Motion carried <br />by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />18. CORRESPONDENCE - The following correspondence was read: <br />A. LETTER FROM SOUTHERN PACIFIC TRANSPORTATION COMPANY - <br />A letter of intent accepting the City's proposal to extend <br />water and sewer lines north on 16th Avenue and then west on <br />Lomax School Road to Southern Pacific's Strang Yard Property. <br />A copy is attached and made a part of these minutes. <br />B. INVITATION FOR JOINT TEXAS MUNICIPAL LEAGUE AND REGION 14 - <br />HARRIS COUNTY MAYORS' AND COUNCILMENS ASSOCIATION MEETING - To <br />be held June 23, 1977, at 6:30 P.M. A copy is attached and <br />made a part of these minutes. <br />C. LETTER FROM UNIVERSITY OF HOUSTON - offering a defensive <br />driving course. <br />D. LETTER FROM BOB ARMSTRONG - GENERAL LAND OFFICE - AUSTIN - <br />Inviting the officials to a series of workshops to familiarize <br />coastal community leaders with the impacts of outer continental <br />shelf oil and gas development and the financial assistance <br />under the federal Coastal Energy Impact Program (CEIP). <br />E. LETTER FROM MAYOR JACK CAMPBELL, SEABROOK - Requesting <br />a resolution for a fixed span bridge of 65 feet to be sent <br />to the state.
