CONSIDER EXEMPTING CHURCHES FROM PAYING FEES FOR STREET AND <br />ALLEY CLOSURES - After a brief discussion, motion by Commissioner <br />Tomerlin, seconded by Commissioner Cline to exempt churches from <br />paying fees for street and alley closures. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />10. DISCUSS AMBULANCE CONTRACT - Mayor Meza asked that the discussion <br />on the ambulance contract be tabled for the executive session. <br />+ + + <br />11. CONSIDER CALLING A JOINT PUBLIC HEARING TO BE HELD ON DECEMBER 5, <br />1977, AT 7:00 P.M., TO CONSIDER REZONING THE EAST ONE-HALF <br />• (E. 1/2) OF BLOCKS 832, AND 825, AND LOTS 17 THROUGH 29, BLOCK <br />796, TOWN OF LA PORTE, FROM RESIDENTIAL TO COMMERCIAL -Motion <br />by Commissioner Simons, seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux to <br />call a joint public hearing to be held on December 5, 1977, at <br />7:00 P.M., to consider rezoning the East one-half of_ Blocks <br />832, and 825, and Lots 17 through Lots 29, Block 796, town of <br />La Porte, from Residential to Commercial. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerl <br />NAYS: None. <br />12.
