• Regular Meeting 10/3/79 10 6. PUBLIC HEARINGS - DANGEROUS BUILDINGS - A. Block 57, E.l/2 Lot l5, all of 18, W.1/2 Lot 19, La Porte - W. V. Sullivan, Estate, 412 West Main - Mr. Talburt stated that he .had met with Mr. Sullivan and that he planned to take out a demolishing permit. Mr. Talburt recommended that the Commission go ahead and make a determination should Mr. Sullivan not come back and get his demolishing permit, then we could proceed. B. Block 58, Lots 11 - 12, La Porte - W. V. Sullivan, Estate, 110 North 3rd - Mr. Talburt stated that he had met with Mr. Sullivan and the Heritage Society had sent a letter requesting consideration to grant an extension on the plan to condemn the building. Mr. Talburt stated that he felt if the Commission finds in favor of the Board of Inspection then the Commission may grant a stay and if a stay was granted, that the Heritage Society be required to make a report in writing every thirty days as to their findings, and if at any time they feel that they will not be able to restore the building, that they report this to the Commission so that the proceedings may continue. There was a brief discussion regarding whether or not the building could be moved. Mr. Talburt was of the opinion that it would be too • costly and not advisable. C. Block 79, Lot 14, La Porte - Ms. Shirley Gay Walker, 312 North 6th - No one was present. The Assistant Fire Marshal, Mr. Hickenbottom stated that the building was being partially demolished but he didn't know by whom. However it was the recommendation of the Board of Inspections that the procedure should continue as though nothing had been done. D. Block 67, Lots 22 thru 24, La Porte - Ms. Idella Price - 215 North 6th - Mr. Hickenbottom stated that there had been no responce from this notice. It had been sent to Detroit. He recommended the building be demolished. E. Block 90, Lots 27 and 28, La Porte - Mrs. Elizabeth Patterson, 423 North 5th - No one present. The Board of Inspection recommended that the City tear down the building and file a lein on the property. F. Block 89, Lots 15 and 16, La Porte - Ms. Geraldine Jones, 520 West Tyler and 518 West Tyler - Mr. Talburt stated that he had been contact by someone about demolishing the buildings, but they did not have the finances to cover the bond. It was the recommendation of the Board of Inspection that the Commission continue with the process. •
