JOINT DISCUSSION WITH CHARTER REVISION COMMITTEE AND CONSIDER APPROVING A DISTRICTING PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED BOiJNDARY LINES FOR DISTRICTS FOR ELECTION OF COUNCILPERSONS UNDER THE PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE - CONTINUED Mrs. Riley stated that she felt that she had been on the Committee more than two and one-half .months and she was never in on a meeting where they said, of course she knew that the Charter had been submitted. She was not in on that meeting and did not think that Mr. Daniel was in on the meeting. She stated that this was what they were talking about when there were meetings that they didn't know anything about. She stated that she understood that the Charter had been sent off with the 4-2-1; there is no need for us to come back down here next week and think that you all are going to change your minds; because you are going to take the decision of the majority of the Charter Revision Committee; Mrs. Riley stated that she didn't seen anything for them to do but roll her little map up and ,put it under her arms, and catch a plane and take it to the Justice Department herself. Commissioner Tomerlin moved, and Commissioner Cline seconded the . motion to table items 4 and 5 for further study. Motion carried by: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Cline, and Simons. NAYS: None. + + + RECESS - Commissioner Tomerlin moved and Commissioner Cline seconded the motion to recess the meeting until 7:00 P.M. since public hearings-were scheduled.
