APPROVAL OF MINUTES - REGULAR MEE-TINE - SEPTEMBER 19, 1979 - SEPTEMBER 26, 1979 - Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Tomerlin to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of September 19, 1979 and September 26, 1979, as presented. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Cline, and Simons. NAYS: None. + + + 4. JOINT DISCUSSION WITH CHARTER REVISLON COMMITTEE AND CONSIDER • APPROVING A DISTRTCTTNG PLAN FOR THE PROPOSED BOUNDARY LINES FOR DISTRICTS FOR ELECTION OF COUNCILPERSONS UNDER THE PROPOSED REVISIONS TO THE HOME RULE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE - Mayor Meza stated that the next order of business was the joint discussion with the Charter Revision. Committee and let them review the public-hearing which we had on the redistricting of the City of La Porte. He then asked the Charter Revision Committee Chairman, Mr. H. P. Pfeiffer if he had a quorum of the Charter Revision Committee. It was determined that there was not a quorum of the Charter Revision Committee Mr. Pfeiffer. asked when. the next meeting would be so that the Charter Revision Committee could meet and make a recommendation and have it back to the Commission for their next meeting. Mayor Meza stated that the next meeting would be a work shop on October 10, 1979 and the next regular meeting would be held on October 17, 1979. Commissioner Cline stated that since the Charter Revision Committee had not had an opportunity to meet and review the two different proposals, if they could meet sometime within the next week, couldn't we recess the public hearing until the next week? Mayor Meza stated that we didn't have a public hearing. Commissioner Cline was of the opinion that this was a continuation of the public hearing. It had been continued from week to week. • There was a brief discussion regarding whether or not this was a continuation of the public hearing.
