• Regular Meeting 11/7/79 5 <br />9. CONSIDER APPROVING PROPOSED ORDINANCE N0. 1174 - AN ORDINANCE <br />SETTING MINIMUM FINES FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS FOR CITY OF <br />LA PORTE MUNICIPAL COURT - After the proposed ordinance was <br />read in full, there was a discussion regarding the need to <br />add: Following too close to emergency vehicle - $35.00; <br />Increase: Failure to follow truck route from $20.00 to $35.00; <br />Change: Destruction of City Property and Personal to: <br />Destruction of City Property or Private Property. <br />Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Simons <br />to approve Ordinance No. 1174 as amended. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, and Simons. <br />NAYS: None. <br />CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE ADOPTING A SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM FINES <br />FOR TRAFFIC VIOLATIONS FOR THE CITY OF LA PORTE MUNICIPAL <br />COURT; AUTHORIZING THE PRINTING OF SUCH SCHEDULE OF MINIMUM <br />FINES ON THE REVERSE OF THE VIOLATOR'S COPY OF TRAFFIC <br />CITATIONS; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />10. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS - A. The Administrator stated that <br />he had received a proposal from Ray Farias of the Baptist <br />Church to purchase the pews from the old City Hall at a <br />price of $2.00 each. <br />There was a brief discussion regarding the Charter requirement <br />regarding competitive bidding and the fact that you can not <br />donate City property. <br />After further discussion authorization was given to advertise <br />an auction to be held at 10:00 A.M., November 28, 1979, at the <br />old City Hall, to auction off the pews and any other miscellaneous <br />items in the old City Hall and jail. <br />B. There was a brief discussion regarding the Greco property <br />and the fact that no progress had been made on the remodeling <br />permit; however, there is still a 30-day time limit remaining <br />on the permit. <br />C. The Administrator stated that there had been two Utility <br />• Extension Agreements requested for Bay Plumbing and Fred <br />Westergren and the Public Works Director would like to schedule <br />
