• Regular Meeting 1/23/80 5 <br />9. COUNCIL ACTION (CONTINUED) <br />The E.P.A. is going to pay 75~ of the total rehabilitation. <br />There is approximately $600,000 worth of rehabilitation. If <br />we go ahead and do this work prior to the grant being received, <br />then we will not be reimbursed that 75~. <br />Commissioner Simons asked what we were talking about in the <br />time sequence? About one year. <br />The Administrator stated that we will be submitting our plans <br />to the Texas Department of Resources about the 1st of March. <br />It was the consensus of opinion of the Commission that the work <br />needed to be done now. <br />Commissioner Kibodeaux stated that he had some funds in the <br />Water/Sewer Improvement Fund, but did not have enough. <br />Commissioner Cline stated that she felt that we had tried to <br />hold off but with so much rain could no longer wait. <br />• The Administrator stated that over the ast few <br />p years, we had <br />tried to patch and make do, without spending a great deal of <br />money, pending receipt of the grant. He further stated that <br />repair would be enormous should the Commission determine that <br />this is one that can't wait. <br />Mayor Meza stated that he felt that the Commission felt that this <br />was necessary; just talking about it was not going to get the job <br />done. He further stated that we should get the price that it <br />would cost to do the project; inform the Commission, and they <br />can then take action. <br />B. Commissioner Tomerlin asked about action on the "OWNER'S <br />CERTIFICATE OF ACCEPTANCE". It was determined that was handled <br />and authorized by formal acceptance of Fairmont Park, West, <br />Section V. <br />C. Commissioner Cline requested an Executive Session for Saturday, <br />January 26, 1980, at 2:00 P.M. for a debriefing on the trip to <br />Washington.
