<br />• Regular Meeting 3/5/80 <br />2 <br />3. APPROVAL OF MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING - FEBRUARY 20, 1980 - <br />Motion by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Tomerlin <br />to approve the minutes of the regular meeting of February 20, <br />1980, as presented. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, and Cline. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />4. CONSIDER AUTHORIZING MAYOR TO EXECUTE AGREEMENT WITH HARRIS <br />COUNTY FOR RURAL FIRE PROTECTION - Motion by Commissioner <br />Tomerlin, seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux to table this <br />item for further study before authorizing the Mayor to execute <br />the agreement with Harris County for rural fire protection. <br />Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, and Cline. <br />NAYS: None. <br />• <br />+ + + <br />5. CONSIDER AWARDING BIDS FOR MISCELLANEOUS EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES - <br />Recommendations from the Chief of Police were distri uted recom- <br />mending that the bids for Police vehicles be awarded as follows: <br />Two staff vehicles, Jay Marks, the low bidder, in the amount of <br />$13,046.56; One I. D. Van, Jay Marks, the low bidder, in the <br />amount of $6,266.67; Four patrol vehicles, Joe Camp Ford, because <br />of past service problems encountered with the Dodge vehicles and <br />dealership, in the amount of $7,212.17 each, total $28,848.68. <br />Motion by Commissioner Kibodeaux, seconded by Commissioner Cline <br />to award the bids as recommended by the Police Chief to: Jay Marks <br />Chevrolet in the amount of $13,046.56 for two staff vehicles; to <br />Jay Marks Chevrolet in the amount of $6,266.67, for one I.D. Van; <br />and to Joe Camp Ford, in the amount of $28,848.68 for four patrol <br />units. Motion carried by the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, and Cline. <br />NAYS: None. <br />+ + + <br />• <br />• <br />
