Motion by Commissioner Tomerlin, seconded by Commissioner Cline to authorize 32 street lights for Glen Meadows, Section Two. Motion carried by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, and Cline. NAYS: None. + + + • 7. CONSIDER ADOPTION OF 1979 EDITIONS OF THE SOUTHERN 'STAN'DARD BUILDING, PLUMBING, MECHANICAL, GAS AN DWELLING CODES AND SMOKE DETECfiION ORDINANCE - Upon the recommendation of the City Administrator, it was moved by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner Kibodeaux that consideration of adoption of the 1979 editions of the codes be postponed until the next regular Commission meeting. NAYS: None. • CAPTION: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 23, "TAXATION", OF THE CODE OF ORDIANNCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, BY EXEMPTING FIFTEEN THOUSAND DOLLARS ($15,000.00) OF THE ASSESSED VALUE OF RESIDENCE HOMESTEADS OF DISABLED ADULTS AND PERSONS SIXTY-FIVE (65) YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER FROP4 ALL AD VALOREM TAXES LEVIED BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE FROM AND AFTER JANUARY 1, 1980; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
