• • <br />Regular Meeting 3/5/80 4 <br />• 9. ADMINISTRATIVE REPORTS - The Administrator spoke of the memo <br />that had been distributed from the Board of Inspection requesting <br />consideration be given to appropriating funds for demolition <br />of buildings located at 222 South Y Street and 1212 Bayshore <br />Drive. The owners of these properties have consented to have <br />the City demolish these buildings. <br />When the program was instituted no funds were budgeted to pay <br />for demolition and it was the intention to have Council budget <br />from the General Fund Contingency as they occurred. Both <br />owners have agreed to sign a promissory note. The signed <br />note has been received from Mr. Roy Rodriguez, Jr., for the <br />building at 222 South Y and we expect to receive an answer <br />from Mrs. William Smith for the building at 1212 Bayshore <br />Drive. The staff requested that Council appropriate $2,900.00 <br />from the General Fund Contingency to the Code Enforcement <br />budget to have these buildings demolished. <br />Prices were taken by sealed quotes. Two were received from <br />Robert Daniel and U. S. Williams Demolishing Co. U. S. <br />Williams was the low quote, The Administrator requested that <br />the Council authorize the appropriation of these funds and <br />demolition of the buildinga at 1212 Bayshore Drive would not <br />be authorized until the signed promissory note was received. <br />Motion was made by Commissioner Cline, seconded by Commissioner <br />Kibodeaux to appropriate $2,900.00 from the General Fund <br />Contingency to proceed with the demolition of the property <br />at 222 South Y and 1212 Bayshore Drive. Motion carried by <br />the following vote: <br />AYES: Commissioners Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, and Cline. <br />NAYS: None. <br />The Administrator stated the general contractors for City <br />Hall have been in replacing the wall paper and ceiling tile. <br />The Administrator spoke of having some serious negotiations <br />regarding the repairing of the sound system, and that <br />everything was moving along. In addition there is a <br />meeting scheduled for Friday with the P. G. Bell staff to <br />discuss the matter further. <br />The Administrator requested an executive session for litigation <br />and personnel. <br />COUNCIL ACTION - Commissioner Tomerlin expressed his thanks <br />and appreciation to Commissioner Kibodeaux for his negotiations <br />on behalf of Parks and Recreation for the poles. The City <br />obtained more poles than expected. <br />• + + + <br />
