"Flexible Base (Crushed Stone)" shall consist <br />of a foundation course for surface course or for other base courses; <br />shall be composed of crusher~un broken stone. <br />2~+2.2 Material. The material shall be crushed ~znd shall consist <br />of durable particles of stone mixed with approved binding material. <br />The material source shall be approved by the City. Only such <br />material removed from the pits as directed and considered unaccept- <br />able by the City shall be classified and paid for as "Stripping". <br />samples for testing the material shall be taken prior to the com- <br />paction operations. <br />Tvpe A. Type A flexible base shall consist of crushed material <br />as described in "Material" above. <br />Grade 2. When properly slaked and tested by standard Texas <br />Highway Department laboratory mer_hods, the flexible base material <br />shall meet the following requirements: <br />Retained on 1-3/4 inch sieve _ Oho <br />Retained on t7o. 4 sieve .45 to 75~; <br />Retained on No. 40 sieve 60 to 85; <br />• . <br />(10) <br />
