Box 44 <br />Tonawanda, New York 14150 <br />Dear Mr. Jehle: <br />This letter is to confirm the consensus of the LaPorte City <br />Council at its meeting of October 22, 1980, concerning the <br />request contained in your letter of September 30, 1980. <br />The City of La Porte is agreeable to the following: <br />1) That the property known as the Cockburn <br />Estate Property as described in your letter, <br />be included in the Battleground Industrial <br />District of the City of La Porte, Texas. <br />2) That the City of La Porte enter into an <br />Industrial District contract with Union <br />Carbide Corporation, on the City's Standard <br />Form of Industrial Agreement, copies of which <br />have previously been furnished to you and to <br />•.your attorney, Mr. Frank Hubert, Jr. of <br />Baker and Botts, with the addition of the <br />language proposed by Mr. Hubert in his letter <br />to Knox. W. Askins, La Porte City Attorney, <br />of October 20, 1980,-with further addition <br />of "industrial waste" to paragraph (2) (c). <br />3) As to your request for disannexation, it is <br />.the practice of the City of La Porte, in <br />connection with Industrial District Agree- <br />ments, that 25% of the value of the industrial <br />facility remain annexed to the City of La Porte. <br />The selection of the portion to remain annexed <br />is a matter which should be worked out between <br />you and the City of La Porte's Tax Engineering <br />Consultant, Mr. Hugh Landrum, whose address <br />and telephone number are as shown below. <br />
