<br />• MINUTES - REGULAR MEETING <br />OF THE <br />LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL - LA PORTE, TEXAS <br />NOVEMBER 19, 1980 <br />1. Meeting called to order by Mayor Meza. <br />Members of the City Council Present: Mayor J. J. Meza; <br />Councilman John Tomerlin; Councilman I. J. Kibodeaux; <br />Councilwoman Virginia Cline; Councilman Tom Simons. <br />Members of the City Council Absent: Councilman Norman <br />L. Malone. <br />Other City Officials Present: City Manager James R. Hudgens; <br />City Attorney Knox Askins; City Secretary Betty T. Waters; <br />City Engineer John Joerns; Police Chief H. F. Freeman; <br />Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge; Fire Marshal Paul <br />Hickenbottom; Parks Director Stan Sherwood; Chief Inspector <br />David Paulissen. <br />• There were 22 additional persons present. <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilman Tomerlin. <br />3. Mayor Meza called fox bids to be submitted on the City of <br />La Porte Service Center. There being no further bids to be <br />received, Mayor Meza declared the time to receive bids <br />closed. <br />City Manager Hudgens opened and read the bids received: <br />Bidder Total <br />Lee Rowe Construction $762,000.00 <br />Watkins Construction Company 969,932.00 <br />Holley Bros. Enterprises 873,000.00 <br />Motion was made by Councilwoman Cline to refer bids to <br />Engineering for tabulation, Council to consider their <br />recommendation on December 17, 1980. The motion was seconded <br />by Councilman Tomerlin. The motion carried 4 ayes and <br />0 nays. <br />. Ayes: Councilmen Tomerlin, Kibodeaux, Cline, Simons <br />Nays: None <br />
