Faris: Mr. Mayor, I guess I find myself in a position where I am going to vote for this ordinance, but I would like to go on record that I will not be voting for any more container yards that are not on the north side of Barbour's Cut Boule- vard until the new zoning proposal is before us and that I really have the distinct impression that the City has become over populated with container yards, number 1, and number 2, I am of the opinion that a lot of our highway frontage is being used for this type of operation when it would return more taxes and more benefit to the community. City Attorney Askins read: A RESOLUTION CONCERNING THE RE- ALIGNMENT OF TTiE RIGHT-OF-WAY FOR THE EXTENSION OF BAY AREA BOULEVARD BETWEEN WEST MAIN STREET (SPENCER HIGHWAY) AND FAIRMONT PARKWAY, IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to pass and approve Resolution No. 82-3 as read y t e City Attorney. Seconded by Councilperson Longley. The motion Carrie 8 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Simons, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza Nays: None 10. Council reviewed the Lomax Street Bond Project (Accounting and Engineering memo an official part of these minutes). A motion was made by_Councilperson Westergren to appropriate $28,690.00 from the 1980-81 Genera Fun Contingency an 3, .2 from the 1981-82 General Fund Contingency to fund the 1, 7.25 deficient amount for the project.
