Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Long ley, Faris, Latimer, Simons, <br />Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council heard Planning and Zoning recommendation that the <br />request for rezoning of the 18.3434 acre tract by Stuart <br />Haynsworth be granted. <br />City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE <br />NO. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING <br />THE CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN <br />DESCRIBED; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Ordinance <br />No. 780-WWW as read by the City Attorne Secon y Counci - <br />person Malone. The motion Carrie ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Faris, Latimer, Simons, <br />Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Meza <br />Nays: None <br />8. Council considered the recommendation from Planning and Zoning <br />to rezone the East one-half of Block 1131 requested by Mr. <br />Gus Brieden be granted. <br />The City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE N0. <br />780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE ZONING ORDINANCE, BY CHANGING THE <br />CLASSIFICATION OF THAT CERTAIN PARCEL OF LAND HEREIN DESCRIBED; <br />AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF." <br />Question was asked by Mr. Latimer if utilities were available <br />to this location. Joerns advised him utilities were available. <br />Skelton: Mr. Mayor, I think that this area is probably in the <br />right zoning type, but if there is a cloud on the title or <br />we're not sure of the owner, I'd like to see it tabled until <br />such time as Brieden is for sure the owner of the property. <br />Meza: Are you making a motion to table this? <br />Skelton: Yes, sir. <br />• Latimer: I'd like to second that motion. <br />
