City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING <br />AND CLOSING PORTIONS OF THE ALLEYS IN BLOCK SEVEN-A (7-A), <br />AND BLOCK SEVEN-D (7-D), NEBRASKA SYNDICATE SUBDIVISION, IN <br />THE TOWN OF LA PORTE, HARRIS COUNTY, TEXAS <br />A motion was made by Councilperson LVestergren to approve and <br />adopt Ordinance No. 1328 as read by the City Attorney vacati <br />and closing certain portions of the alley in Blocks 7-A and <br />7-D. Second by Councilperson Pfeiffer. The motion carried, <br />9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, T~Testergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />17. The City Council considered authorizing re-bidding remaining <br />work on rehabilitation of sanitary sewer collection system <br />due to default by the original contractor. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to table action on <br />this matter until the next regular meeting (June 16, 1982). <br />• Second by Councilperson Westergren. The motion carried, 9 <br />ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, [aestergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />18. Administrative Reports <br />City Manager Owen requested an executive session to discuss <br />a personnel matter <br />19. Council Action: <br />Councilperson Longley asked that a supply of the stick-on <br />seabulls be acquired to further the good public relations <br />they have inspired in the past. <br />Councilperson Matuszak called to the Public Works Department's <br />attention problems at the Catlett and Belfast outlets into <br />Big Island Slough on the west side next to the foot bridge. <br />He felt a danger to small children existed there. <br />Councilperson Gay requested an executive session to discuss <br />land acquisition. <br />• <br />
