• • • Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council June 2, 1982, Page 5 DESCRIBING ONE OR MORE ELIGIBLE BLIGHTED AREAS TO BE DESIGNATED BY THE CITY; DETERMINING THE DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF A PUBLIC HEARING; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO THE SUBJECT A motion was made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to approve and adopt Resolution No. 82-7 as read by the City Attorney and setting July 7, 1982, 7:00 P.M., as a date for Public Hearing pursuant to the provisions of the Act and Chapter 107 of the Rules for the purposes of establishing one or more eligib blighted areas. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline Nays: None 14. The Council considered a recommendation from John Joerns, Engineering Department, concerning the authorization by Council to participate in the oversizing of an 8 inch to a • 12 inch vaater line 6estinghouse Electric Corp. is prepared to extend for some 2800 feet. This would be in keeping with the plans to eventually complete a 12 inch outer loop along Fairmont Parkway. The Westinghouse rate for water will be 12 times the normal rate. A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak authorizing the expenditure of 15,000.00+ from the Water and Sewer Contingen Fund to over size the 8" to 12" water line being extended by T~7estinghouse Electric Corp. along Fairmont Parkway some 2800 feet. Second by Councilperson Malone. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline Nays: None 15. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING AND CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH G STREET; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF A motion was made by Councilperson Longley to approve and adopt Ordinance No. 1327 as read by the City Attorney closing that certain portion of North G Street between North 4th and 5th Streets. Second by Councilperson Westergren. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. • Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and P~ayor Cline Nays: None
