• • <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />June 2, 1982, Page 5 <br />DESCRIBING ONE OR MORE ELIGIBLE BLIGHTED AREAS TO BE DESIGNATED <br />BY THE CITY; DETERMINING THE DATE, TIME AND LOCATION OF A <br />PUBLIC HEARING; AND CONTAINING OTHER PROVISIONS RELATING TO <br />THE SUBJECT <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to approve and <br />adopt Resolution No. 82-7 as read by the City Attorney and <br />setting July 7, 1982, 7:00 P.M., as a date for Public Hearing <br />pursuant to the provisions of the Act and Chapter 107 of the <br />Rules for the purposes of establishing one or more eligib <br />blighted areas. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />14. The Council considered a recommendation from John Joerns, <br />Engineering Department, concerning the authorization by <br />Council to participate in the oversizing of an 8 inch to a <br />• 12 inch vaater line 6estinghouse Electric Corp. is prepared <br />to extend for some 2800 feet. This would be in keeping with <br />the plans to eventually complete a 12 inch outer loop along <br />Fairmont Parkway. The Westinghouse rate for water will be <br />12 times the normal rate. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak authorizing the <br />expenditure of 15,000.00+ from the Water and Sewer Contingen <br />Fund to over size the 8" to 12" water line being extended by <br />T~7estinghouse Electric Corp. along Fairmont Parkway some 2800 <br />feet. Second by Councilperson Malone. The motion carried, <br />9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />15. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE VACATING, ABANDONING <br />AND CLOSING A PORTION OF NORTH G STREET; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Longley to approve and <br />adopt Ordinance No. 1327 as read by the City Attorney closing <br />that certain portion of North G Street between North 4th and <br />5th Streets. Second by Councilperson Westergren.
