• <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting and Public Hearing <br />La Porte City Council, July 7, 1982, Page 8 <br /> <br />There was some discussion concerning the involvement between <br />the City of La Porte and Harris County, since the building <br />belongs to the City but it is staffed and equipped by the <br />County, Mayor Cline felt the County should be made aware of <br />the La Porte City Council's feeling. Mayor Cline appointed <br />City Manager Owen and Councilperson Westergren to contact <br />the County and report back to the Council before any final <br />action is taken in this matter. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to table the <br />Resolution until such time as Harris County is contacted on <br />this matter. Second by Councilperson Skelton. The motion <br />carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />12. The Council considered authorizing the transfer of $12,000.00 <br />from Park Land Acquisition to Play Ground Equipment. Council- <br />. person Longley brought to the Council's attention bids had <br />been received for playground on Friday, July 2, 1982, after <br />the July 7, 1982, agenda was prepared and posted. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Longley to authorize the <br />transfer of $12,000.00 from Park Land Acquisition to Play <br />Ground Equipment and authorizing t e City Manager to award <br />the bid for playground equipment to the low adder. Second <br />by Councilperson Malone. The motion carried, 9 a yes and 0 <br />nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />13. Council considered authorizing the City Attorney to draw an <br />Ordinance to amend Ordinance No. 811 - Section 8C, Subsec- <br />tion (4) (c) due to a recommendation from the La Porte Elec- <br />trical Board and the Code Enforcement Division. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Westergren authorizing the <br />amendment to Ordinance No. 811. Second by Councilperson Gay. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, and l abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, Gay, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Pfeiffer due to his profession as <br />Electrical Contractor <br />
