Second by Councilperson Pfeiffer. Annexation Study Committee appointment tabled for executive session. <br />9. Council considered entering into an agreement between City of La Porte <br />and Bill Fleener/James R. Sylvester, Trustees, representing the ownership <br />and development of a certain 75.8 acre tract of land lying within the <br />extra-territorial jurisdiction of the City and in the College View MUD <br />for the construction and dedication of a 24" sewage collection line from <br />the existing Fairmont Treatment Plant to Underwood Road, then North 750' <br />then westerly approximately 3,750' along the said right-of-way to the <br />proposed southerly projection of Canada Street. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to accept the proposed 24" <br />sewage collection-line. Second by Councilperson Skelton. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to amend the motion by Wester- <br />gren to state the City of La Porte will accept the donation of a 24" sewage <br />collection line and treat the effluent of the proposed improvements after <br />satisfactory contractural agreements have been completed between the City <br />of La Porte and Bill W. Fleener and James R. Sylvester, Trustees, who <br />represent the ownership and development interest. Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. The motion to the amendment carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren, <br />Malone and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered a proposed agreement between the City of La Porte and the <br />La Porte Area Water Authority read by City Attorney Askins. The agreement <br />appropriates an advance of $100,000.00 (one hundred thousand dollars) to <br />the Water Authority to be used for studies, planning, preliminary engineering <br />and preparatory work, to enable the Water Authority to carry out its legis- <br />lative mandate. <br />A motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to authorize the Mayor and City <br />ecretary to execute the agreement on behalf of the City. Second by <br />Councilperson Gay.
