Council considered participation with other cities under the <br />direction of TML in a joint study of the Southwestern Bell <br />rate increase request. A motion was made by Councilperson <br />Pfeiffer to join with the joint effort under TML to study <br />Southwestern Bell's rate increase request, the funds to be <br />appropriated from the General Fund Contingency at a rate of <br />3.5~ per capita ased on t e City of La Porte 80 population <br />figures. Second by Councioperson Matuszak. The motion car- <br />ried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Malone, <br />Longley, Matuszak and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />9. Council considered a report from Councilperson Skelton con- <br />cerning the need for a Solid Waste Disposal Study. A motion <br />• was made by Councilperson Skelton to authorize a study con- <br />cerning Solid Waste Disposal methods and facilities and ap- <br />propriating 51,500.00 from the General Fund Contingency. <br />Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 8 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Malone, <br />Longley, Matuszak and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />10. A motion was made by Councilperson Graves to enter into an <br />interlocal agreement with the City of Seabrook to cooperate <br />on the Solid Waste Study. Second by Councilperson Longley. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Graves, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Malone, <br />Longley, Matuszak and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />11. Consent Agenda: <br />Councilperson Graves requested item C be removed for discussion. <br />A. Consider awarding bid to Parker Bros. in the amount of <br />$11.67 per ton for limestone. <br />• B. Consider awarding bid to White Supply for concrete culvert <br />pipe. <br />
