<br />CJ <br />• Minutes, Regular Meeting, La Porte City Council <br />May 4, 19.83, Page 5 <br />Mentioned letter to editor by Po11y Myers regarding leash <br />laws and asked that dogs be "chased" a little better, if <br />possible. <br />Council erson Matuszak: Thanked the residents of Collingswood <br />or coming out an the efforts they had put forth trying to <br />get Collingswood closed. He feels we need an access for ve- <br />hicular traffic closer to the school, preferably up along the <br />Catlett. access for almost entirely school traffic. He stated <br />the School Board needs to be contacted to see if a solution <br />can be reached. <br />Mr. Matuszak also thanked Stan Sherwood for a fine job on the <br />Sylvan Beach City float. <br />Council erson Graves: Thanked people for coming out and ex- <br />presse is ope t at interest in the meetings would continue. <br />Council erson Ga Thanked people for coming out. Reported <br />t at t e oca paper had mis-stated in their editorial about <br />;• the City having Eddie Gray over a barrel. Mr. Gray has always <br />been most cooperative in anything the City asked of him. <br />Expressed his concern about a parking lot one of the churches <br />is putting in and hoped some solution could be reached. <br />Council erson Skelton: Reported that Council had quite a time. <br />on t e oat in t e. Sylvan parade; the float won a first place <br />trophy for originality. He stated it is good to see all our <br />neighbors participating, working together to have fun and to <br />make the City a better place to live, especially during the <br />month of April on the Clean Up - Green Up we've had and partici- <br />pation of Sylvan Beach. <br />Mayor Cline: Expressed appreciation to the Staff for the float - <br />they did a super job. <br />17. Executive Session <br />Council adjourned into executive session at 7:54 P.M. and <br />returned to the Council .table at 9:05 P.M. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1365 - AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING <br />MEMBERS OF THE PLANNING .AND ZONING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE AND MEMBERS OF THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE, PURSUANT TO ARTICLE II, SECTION 2-19, OF THE CODE OF <br />ORDLNANCES OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE; CONTAINING A REPEALING <br />CLAUSE; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS, LAW; AND <br />PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE. DATE HEREOF. <br />
