Council considered an application by Airco Industries, located on Fairmont Parkway west of Bay Area Blvd., for a three (3) inch water tap. Airco Industries is outside-the La Porte City Limit, but a 12-inch water line is available which was extended some time ago by Westinghouse. Airco has agreed to fund the entire project and to comply with all requirements of the out- of-the-City water use policy. A motion was made by Councilperson Malone to ap rove the Airco Industries application for a water tap. Second by Counci person Longley. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves,. Pfeiffer,. Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline Nays: None 15. Council was advised by the City Secretary that she had received a call from Scott White asking that his request for sewer service outside the City Limits be-removed from the agenda. This met with Council approval. 16. Council considered the City Manager's recommendation to fill a vacancy on the Civil Service Commission. City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE APPOINTING JIM LONG- . NECKER TO THE CIVIL SERVICE COMMISSION AND PROVIDING AN EF- FECTIVE DATE HEREOF.
