MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 16, 1983 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of the City Council Present: Mayor Virginia Cline, <br />Councilpersons Norman Malone, John Longley, Ed Matuszak, <br />Kevin Graves, Lindsay Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, Don Skelton <br />and Linda Westergren <br />Members of the City Council Absent: None <br />Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, <br />City Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Betty Waters, <br />Building Official David Paulissen, Graduate Engineer John <br />Joerns, Director of Administrative Services Bob Herrera, <br />Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge, Chief of Police Herb <br />Freeman, Purchasing Agent Jackson Ray <br />Others Present: Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Barbara Neal, <br />La Porte Broadcaster; Melissa Lestarjette, Bayshore Sun; <br />Kathleen Sheehan, Rimco. There were 28 interested citizens <br />present in the Council Chambers. <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Malone <br />3. The Council considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />held March 2, 1983. <br />A motion was made by Council erson Malone to accept the <br />minutes as presented. Second y Councilperson Gay. Th <br />motion carried, 8 ayes, 0 nays, 1 abstain. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Graves, Pfeiffer, <br />Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor -Cline <br />Nays: None <br />Abstain: Councilperson Longley <br />4. L. H. "Sonny" McKey addressed the Council concerning the <br />"South East Texas Housing Finance Board." Mr. McKey introduced <br />Bill Allen. Mr. Allen answered questions from the Council. <br />A resolution was read by City Attorney Askins authorizing, <br />approving and requesting the amendment of the Articles of <br />Incorporation of the Southeast Texas Housing Finance Corporation. <br />
