Members of the City Council Present: Mayor Virginia Cline, Councilpersons Norman Malone, John Longley, Ed Matuszak, Kevin Graves, Lindsay Pfeiffer, B. Don Skelton, Linda Westergren Members of the City Council Absent: Councilperson Deotis Gay Members of the City Staff Present: City Manager Jack Owen, City Attorney Knox Askins, Assistant City Attorney. John Arm- strong, Assistant City Secretary Cherie Black, Director of Administrative Services Bob Herrera, Director of Public Works Jerry Hodge, Chief Building Official David Paulissen, Graduate Engineer John Joerns, Director of Parks and Recreation Stanley Sherwood, Assistant Fire Chief John Dunham Others Present: Gordon Black; Tracy Brannon, Kim Hardin and John Salazar, Royal Ballet Theater of Texas; Linda Wingo and Marilyn Hickenbottom, Beta Sigma Phi Sorority; Frieda Beaty, Baytown Sun; Jeff Patterson,. Southeast Weekly; Melissa Lestar- jette and Linda Castleberry, Bayshore Sun and Broadcaster; 31 interested citizens 2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Norman Malone. 3. Council considered the minutes of the Regular Meeting of the La Porte City Council held April 6, 1983. A motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to accept the minutes. Corrections by Councilpersons Longley and Graves were requested as follows: Under "Emergency Addendum": "The motion was made to discontinue any further discussion on the matter in Council session, to waive the two-day limitation of appeal on the electrical code, and to direct the staff to get with the owner of the building and also the prospective renters to work out a solution. Motion for executive session was made by Councilperson Wester- gren. Second by Longley."
