Administrative Reports:
City Manager Owen reported that one of the streets under the
McKey street paving contract, Fieldcrest Lane, has 8 different
stands of pine trees, located almost in the center of the right
of"way of the street. The trees cannot be left and pave the
street in the center. To shift the street over, the trees
would be a hazard and open the City to considerable liability.
Three alternatives to solving the problem are: (1) put in
24' width with trees being there, (2) Narrow the street and
slide it south of the right of way, (3) Cut the trees.
After Council discussion, it was moved by Councilperson Pfeiffer
to remove the trees. Council-
persons Matuszak, Gay, Skelton and Malone volunteered to be
"cops", and robbers will be Councilpersons Longley, Graves,
and Mayor Cline.
Mr. Owen reported that. La Porte's share of the City auction
was $22,926.50, and the total for the four cities involved
was $53,438.50.
• Mr. Owen asked for an executive session on a legal matter.
