Motion was made by Councilperson Graves <br />to authorize going out for bids for fire station ~l ex~ansion_ <br />and 0 nays. <br />ayes <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Skelton, Gay, Pfeiffer, Graves, Matuszak, <br />Longley, Malone and Mayor Cline <br />Nays:. None <br />12. Council considered amendments to Ordinance 780, the Zoning <br />Ordinance of-the City of La Porte., Articles 7 and 13. The <br />City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ARTICLE 7, SECTION <br />7-100, et. seq., OF ORDINANCE N0. 780, THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />ZONING ORDINANCE, PROVIDING .NEW DEFINITIONS OF MANUFACTURING, <br />SHIPPING; CONTAINER STORAGE YARDS., TRUCKS, TRUCK TERMINALS, <br />TRUCK WASHES, FREIGHT, FREIGHT TERMINALS, OPEN TERRACE, AUTO- <br />MOTIVE WRECKING AND SALVAGE YARD, AND SCRAP METAL PROCESSORS; <br />FURTHER AMENDING ARTICLE 13, SECTION 13-404(4)(c) REMOVING <br />THE SQ. FEET OF LOT AREA PER GROUND FLOOR MULTIPLE FAMILY <br />.DWELLING UNIT REQUIREMENT, AND REPLACING IT WITH A SIMPLE <br />UNITS PER ACRE DENSITY LIMITATION; FURTHER AMENDING ARTICLE <br />13, SECTION 505(2), TO REQUIRE AUTOMOTIVE WRECKING AND SALVAGE <br />YARDS, AND SCRAP METAL PROCESSORS TO BE LOCATED ON LAND ZONED <br />INDUSTRIAL, FURTHER REQUIRING A SPECIAL USE PERMIT FOR SAID <br />USES; PROVIDING THAT ANY PERSON VIOLATING THE TERMS OF THIS <br />ORDINANCE SHALL BE DEEMED GUILTY OF A MISDEMEANOR AND SHALL <br />UPON CONVICTION BE FINED IN ANY SUM NOT MORE THAN TWO HUNDRED <br />DOLLARS ($200.00); FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS <br />LAW; PROVIDING A SEVERABILITY CLAUSE; AND PROVIDING AN EFFEC- <br />TIVE DATE HEREOF. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to annrove and adovt <br />Ordinance No. 7~ -ZZZ as rea t e Cit Attorne Second by <br />Counci person S e ton. T emotion Carrie ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Skelton, Gay, Pfeiffer, Graves, Matuszak, <br />Longley, Malone and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: -None <br />13. Council considered approving a contract with the La-Porte Area <br />Emergency Ambulance Corps (a Part of the official minutes). <br />After discussion by Council and .questions were answered by Mike <br />Martinez, Ambulance Corps Manager; motion was made b Council- <br />~erson Skelton that the Cit `enter into a contract wit t e <br />Am'6u awe Service.
