Council considered approving the m notes of the Special <br />Meeting held December 28, 1983. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Malone to approve the minutes <br />as presented. Second by Councilperson Skelton. Mayor Cline presented t e mployee of the Quarter award to <br />George Turany, Parks Foreman, for his efforts of special <br />endeavor for the City. <br />7. Mrs. Mineola Walker was scheduled to speak .before Council but <br />had not yet arrived. Mayor Cline stated that Council could <br />return to this item when Mrs. Walker did arrive.. <br />• 8. La Porte Independent School District Superintendent Robert <br />Williams and School Board Trustee Reude Wheeler presented a <br />report on the. upcoming school bond election. to be `held on <br />January 21, 1984, and .the building program in conjunction <br />with it. <br />Councilperson Graves arrived at the Council table at 7:13 P.M. <br />At this time Mrs. Mineola Walker had arrived and addressed <br />Council about the possibility of the City giving her permission <br />to use property she owns on 5th Street and Crest Lane for <br />needy people to place their house trailers on at no charge to <br />them. <br />Af ter questions from Council had been answered, the Mayor <br />stated Mrs. Walker's request would be taken under advisement <br />and would let her know if anything could be worked out.. <br />9. Council considered an ordinance setting temporary water and <br />sewer flat. rates for residents of Spenwick Municipal Utility <br />District. <br />The City Attorney read: AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING TEMPORARY <br />WATER AND SEWER FLAT RATES FOR THE RESIDENTS OF THE SPENWICK <br />• PLACE MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE <br />DATE HEREOF. <br />
