City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE FINDING THAT THE TERRITORY COMPRISING THE SPENWICK PLACE MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISL' TRICT HAS BEEN FINALLY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LA FORTE; DIS- SOLVING THE LEGAL EXISTENCE OF THE SPENWICK PLACE MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISTRICT AT THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON JANUARY 31, 19$4; FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. Council considered. emergency purchase of a booster pump for Booster Station #l. Motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to approve the emergency purchase of a booster pump from Pump and Power Equipment Company in the amount of 4,700.. Second by Council- person Pfeiffer. Council considered authorizing hiring additional police patrol- men and transferring funds from the Contingency fund to the Police budget. Mr. Owen stated that since the annexation had added some 2700 residents to the City, it is felt that three (3) additional patrolmen are needed to provide the services presently being given to the rest of the City. Since. no funds were budgeted for the additional patrolmen, it is requested that authorize- tion for a .budget. transfer.. from the Contingency fund to the Police budget in the amount of $6.2,617 be given.
