Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered an ordinance formally dissolving the <br />Spenwick Place Municipal Utility District. <br />City Attorney Askins read: AN ORDINANCE FINDING THAT THE <br />TERRITORY COMPRISING THE SPENWICK PLACE MUNICIPAL UTILITY DISL' <br />TRICT HAS BEEN FINALLY ANNEXED TO THE CITY OF LA FORTE; DIS- <br />SOLVING THE LEGAL EXISTENCE OF THE SPENWICK PLACE MUNICIPAL <br />UTILITY DISTRICT AT THE CLOSE OF BUSINESS ON JANUARY 31, 19$4; <br />FINDING COMPLIANCE WITH THE OPEN MEETINGS LAW; AND PROVIDING AN <br />EFFECTIVE DATE HEREOF. <br /> <br />Motion was made by <br />No . 139 6 as read_ b <br />person Westergren. <br />Councilp <br />-the Cit <br />The mot <br />rson Skelton.. to adopt Ordinance <br />Attorney. Council considered. emergency purchase of a booster pump for <br />Booster Station #l. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Westergren to approve the <br />emergency purchase of a booster pump from Pump and Power <br />Equipment Company in the amount of 4,700.. Second by Council- <br />person Pfeiffer. The motion carried, 9 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Longley, Matuszak, Graves, <br />Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None, <br />• <br />12. Council considered authorizing hiring additional police patrol- <br />men and transferring funds from the Contingency fund to the <br />Police budget. <br />Mr. Owen stated that since the annexation had added some 2700 <br />residents to the City, it is felt that three (3) additional <br />patrolmen are needed to provide the services presently being <br />given to the rest of the City. Since. no funds were budgeted <br />for the additional patrolmen, it is requested that authorize- <br />tion for a .budget. transfer.. from the Contingency fund to the <br />Police budget in the amount of $6.2,617 be given. <br />
