Council considered appointments to the Industrial Development <br />Corporation, La Porte Area Water Authority, La Porte Ambulance <br />Board and Harris County Appraisal Review Board. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to take this item to <br />executive session for discussion. Council agreed. <br />17. Council considered the request of Houston Lighting & Power <br />Company for an easement in Little Cedar Bayou Park. <br />Houston Lighting & Power records show that nearly 25 years ago <br />they put a power line across what is now City of La Porte <br />property (Little Cedar Bayou Park acquisition). The power line <br />as it exists tends to cut the. property in two, and the Light <br />Company has a need to reroute this line and upgrade it to add <br />• service to .new homes being built on the bay near South R Street. <br />The Light Company, under Texas land law, has a limitations <br />title to an easement right of the present location of the line. <br />HL&P wants. to do some upgrading and clear up their records on <br />it, and have asked for a written easement for the City. The <br />City suggested to the Light Company that they ,reroute the line <br />to follow the borders of the property as closely as possible. <br />HL&P esentially agreed to this. <br />After discussion,. motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to <br />table this item and have the staff review this and bring back <br />to Council a total outlay of the park so Council will know the <br />exact location being. discussed. Second by ,Councilperson Malone. <br />The motion carried, 8 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Longley, Matuszak,. Administrative Reports <br />Mr. Owen reminded Council that the .bond sale for College View <br />MUD would be held February 2l at 7:OO P.M. at the College View <br />MUD office, 8610 Bandridge. <br />• Mr. Owen reported the bond rating trip to New York. was successful. <br />Standard & Poors rating gave the City am A+ and Moody's gave the <br />City an A rating. <br />
