I <br /> <br />• MINUTES <br />OF THE <br />REGULAR MEETING OF THE LA PORTE CITY COUNCIL <br />MARCH 21, 1984 <br />1. The meeting was called to order by Mayor Cline at 7:00 P.M. <br />Members of Cit Council Present: Mayor Virginia Cline, Council- <br />persons Ed Matusza Linsday Pfeiffer, Deotis Gay, B. Don Skelton, <br />Linda Westergren and Norman Malone <br />Members of City Council Absent: Councilpersons Kevin Graves <br />and John Longley <br />Members of City Staff Present: City.Manager Jack Owen, City <br />Attorney Knox Askins, City Secretary Cherie Black, Chief <br />Building Official David Paulissen, Director of Public Works <br />Jerry Hodge, Administrative Intern Doug de la Morena <br />Others Present: Jimmy Jernigan;. David Berrier; Dr. E. Harvey; <br />Debbie Rihn; Arlene Arends, Bayshore Sun-Broadcaster; Sig <br />• Christenson, Baytown Sun; 9 citizens <br />2. The invocation was given by Councilperson Skelton. <br />3. Council considered approving the minutes of the regular meeting <br />held March 14, 1984. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to approve the minutes <br />as presented. Second by Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, <br />7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Wester- <br />gren, Malone and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />4. Mayor Cline proclaimed the last week in March as "FFA Week" in <br />La Porte, and praised the local FFA chapter and their sponsor <br />for their excellent achievements. <br />Jimmy Jernigan, president of the FFA Club, and David Berrier, <br />FFA Sponsor, accepted the proclamation. <br />5. Council considered approving the request of Space City Inter- <br />national Air Show to hold an air show at La Porte Municipal <br />Airport. <br /> <br />• Af ter discussion and questions by Council had been answered to <br />their satisfaction by representatives E. Harvey and Debbie Rihn, <br />
