Council considered a presentation by Mr. Pritchard and Dr. <br />Jamie Benray from the Pulse Development Corporation <br />concerning plans for a hospital facility to be built across <br />from the airport and adjacent to the elementary school on <br />Spencer Hwy. After discussion and questions by Council. <br />council then discussed the Health facilities development <br />corporation which is concerning the same matter. <br />Councilperson Deotis Gay arrived at 7:53 p.m. <br />8. Council considered approving the resolution approving <br />incorporation of the City of La Porte Health facilities <br />development corporation. Knox Askins, City Attorney stated <br />that this resolution will be used to issue tax exempt bonds <br />to those people wanting to purchase land, build buildings <br />and equip the facilities of hospital development. Attorney <br />Askins stated that by authorizing these articles of incor- <br />• poration this only shows that the Council sees a need for <br />a medical facility in the City. <br />City Attorney Knox Askins read: Resolution 84-2 A RESOLUTION <br />AUTHORIZING ANA APPROVING THE CREATION OF A HEALTH FACILITIES <br />DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION TO ACT ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF LA <br />PORTE, TEXAS, IN THE PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF NEW, <br />EXPANDED OR IMPROVED HEALTH FACILITIES IN ORDER TO ASSIST THE <br />MAINTENANCE OF THE PUBLIC HEALTH AND THE PUBLIC WELFARE. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Gav to avurove Resolution <br />No. 84-2, as rea b Cit Attorne s ins. Council considered an emergency Ordinance reducing the speed <br />limits on State Hwy. 146 Frontage Roads North and South bound. <br />Jerry Hodge explained where the reduction of speed would begin <br />& .end, and the costs of placing the reduction of speed signs. <br />Approximately $1,200. <br /> <br />• Mayor Cline stated that we have received notification that <br />there will be an overpass built at Fairmont & Hwy. 146. <br />
