Mr. Jimmie Ray Spradling spoke to Council regarding cleaning <br />up of building sites by contractors, need of a sign ordinance, <br />and the junk vehicle ordinance. <br />6. Council considered a resolution approving .the resolution of the <br />Industrial Development Corporation to issue industrial revenue <br />bonds for Contech Engineering, Inc. <br />City Attorney Askins summarized the resolution and read: <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING ISSUANCE BY THE CITY OF LA PORTE <br />INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION OF AN ISSUE IN THE AMOUNT <br />OF $400,000 OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT <br />CORPORATION INDUSTRIAL DEVELOPMENT REVENUE BONDS (CONTECH <br />ENGINEERING, INC. PROJECT) SERIES 1984; APPROVING THE RESO- <br />LUTION OF THE ISSUER AUTHORIZING THE BONDS, THE ISSUANCE <br />OF THE BONDS AUTHORIZED THEREBY AND THE PLAN OF FINANCING <br />APPROVED THEREBY AND THE BOND DOCUMENTS; AND APPROVING THE <br />PROJECT TO BE FINANCED WITH THE BONDS <br />• <br />Motion was made by Councilperson.Westergren to approve the <br />resolution to grant industrial revenue bonds to Contech <br />Engineering, Inc., in the amount of $400,000. Second by <br />Councilperson Gay. The motion carried, 8 ayes.and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton, Westergren, <br />Longley,.Matuszak, Graves and.Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />7. Council considered a resolution approving the resolution of the <br />Industrial Development Corporation to issue industrial revenue <br />bonds for Process Products, Inc. <br />Councilperson Gay reported that constituents in his district, <br />where Process Products would locate, were concerned with this <br />type of business being there. They felt i;~ would not be for <br />the betterment of this part of town. They are concerned about <br />the noise level. <br />James Rosier, representative of Process Products, gave a des- <br />cription of what is planned for the project, ..which is a valve <br />repair facility. He explained that noise abatement procedures <br />had been employed and that the noise level is below what the <br />City ordinance requires. <br /> <br />Mayor Cline commented that E. W. Felscher, a member of the IDC, <br />had driven to Louisiana and~i.nspected theLouisiana.facility <br />and had reported he was very impressed with~the~operation and <br />that the noise level there was very low. <br />
