Second by Councilperson <br />Gay. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Westergren, Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, <br />Gay, Skelton and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council was to consider the request of Bill Angel to close <br />12th Street between Blocks 169 and 900, Town of La Porte. <br />At Mr. Angel's request, this item was removed from the <br />agenda and postponed until the meeting of September 5. <br />11. Council considered an agreement with Harris County for <br />participation in the Community Development Block Grant <br />Program. <br />Mr. Owen noted that staff feels it is to the City's advantage <br />to participate in the program. <br />• After brief discussion, motion was made by Councilperson Ga <br />to approve the agreement with Harris County for the Cammuni <br />Development Block Grant Program. Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. The motion carried, 7 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Westergren, Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, <br />Gay, Skelton and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br />12. Council considered a resolution authorizing the acquisition <br />of an 80-acre tract for a sanitary landfill site. <br />The City Attorney then read Resolution 84-10 and described <br />the boundaries of the proposed site. <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Resolution <br />84-10 as read. Second by Councilperson Gay.
