Council considered awarding a bid for computer hardware and <br />peripheral equipment. <br /> <br />Jerry Hodge reviewed the recommendation of LWFW, who recom- <br />mended a Data General Model 10/SP Microcomputer in order that <br />complete compatibility with the City's main frame be 'achieved. <br />Mr. Hodge stated that only one unit will be ordered, rather <br />than the two specified in the bid packet that had gone out. <br /> <br />After briei discussion,! motion was made by Councilperson Gay <br />to accept staff's reco~endation and award the bid for <br />com uter hardware and :eri heral equi ment to HMS, ,Inc., ,in <br />the amount of 10,647.: Second by Counc~lperson Matuszak. <br />The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: <br /> <br />I <br />Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, ,Gay, <br />Skelton and Mayqr Cline <br />None : <br /> <br />Nays: <br /> <br />11. Mr. Doyle Westergren sp,oke to Council regarding surveys in <br />Beck's Addition of Oakhurst, and presented a copy of a peti- <br />tion signed by some of ,the residents ther'e'- A copy of Mr. <br />Westergren's comments is attached to these 'minutes'. <br /> <br />At the conclusion of Mi:. Westergren's presentation, ,Mayor <br />Cline stated that sinc~ this matter had come before 'Council <br />previously, she had asked the City Attorney for an opinion <br />as to whether the City:was violating the State 'constitution <br />or any laws on maintairting our streets and that the City <br />Attorney had written a :reply. <br /> <br />I <br /> <br />The City Attorney read 'his opinion letter, a copy of which' <br />is attached to these minutes. <br /> <br />12. Mr. John Kiib1er was s~hedu1ed to speak on Oakhurst Addi ti'on <br />encroachments, but elected not to speak. <br />I <br />I <br />Members of Council spoke to the issue of encroachments on City <br />property. : <br />I <br />I <br />I <br />Councilperson Malone: IMadame Mayor, r igh t or wrong, ,I think <br />we have to take our counsel's opinion on this. He 'has given <br />us something that's more or less law, .and I think we 'need to <br />support it. If ~t's not right we'll find out later. But if <br />it's been done in the past and hasn't harmed anyone,' I don't <br />know why we need to get involved in this. My opinion is that <br />it's something that's develop.ed over the 'years, ,and I don" t <br />think we can do anything about it. <br /> <br />~ <br />
