Motion was made by Councilperson Matuszak to approve the minutes of the public hearing as presented. Second by Councilperson Pfeiffer. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton and Mayor Cline Nays: None 5. Mayor Cline presented former Councilperson Kevin Graves with a framed resolution and a plaque from the City in appreciation of his years of service to the City. Mr~ Graves received a standing ovation from the audience. . 6. Mayor Cline recognized Tommy Logan as Employee of the Quarter for June, July and August, 1984. She presented Tommy with a plaque. 7. Mayor Cline recognized the Employee of the year, Kathy Hutton. Kathy was unable to attend the meeting to receive her certifi- cate. 8. Mayor Cline proclaimed the week of September 9-15, 1984, as "School Attendance Awareness Week." Dr. Clyde Smith, repre- senting the La Porte Independent School District, accepted the proclamation. Councilperson Malone at this time expressed his appreciation to Kevin Graves. 9. At this time bids for the cleaning, TV inspection and point repairs for sanitary sewer system were opened by the City Secretary and read by Frank Marino of Turner Collie & Braden. The bids received are as follows: Bay town Construction Company, Beaumont Naylor Municipal Services, Pasadena Walglen Construction Company, Houston Reliance Construction Company, Houston $348,130.00 121,211.50 184,700.00 253 " 2 8 7 . 50 . The bids will be tabulated and returned to Council with'a recommendation as soon as possible. llo...
