Second by Councilperson Matuszak. <br />The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Gay, <br />Skelton and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />l~. Council considered a resolution naming a Sesquicenten~ial <br />chairman and approving "the Sesquicentennial Master Plan. <br /> <br />The Mayor introduced Dr. Clyde Smith, chairman of the Ses- <br />quicentennial celebration, who gave an entertaining and <br />informative presentation on ;.the Sesquicentennial celebration <br />and what our area has planned. <br /> <br />After the presentation, the City Attorney r.ead: Resolution <br />84-15 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />LA PORTE, TEXAS, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE MASTER PLAN SUB- <br />MITTED BY THE SESQUICENTENNIAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE OF <br />LA PORTE, TEXAS, DIRECTING SAID COMMITTEE TO SUBMIT SAID <br />MASTER PLAN TO THE TEXAS SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMISSION AND <br />DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. <br /> <br />Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Resolution <br />84-15 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Counci1person <br />Matuszak. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, ,Gay, <br />Skelton and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />19. There were no Administrative Reports. <br /> <br />20. Council Action <br /> <br />Skelton: Reminded Council of his need for their comments <br />for TML legislative policy committee on financing municipal <br />affairs. <br /> <br />Cline: Reported that the City had done very well with 'the MDA <br />this year, especially with the help of the Pasadena-Bay Area <br />Te1ecommunicators and Sue Lenes. About $1600 was raised. It <br />shows her that La Porte cares, and she looks forward to the <br />City's same enthusiasm in supporting the Sesquicentennial <br />celebration. <br /> <br />~ <br />
