Second by Councilperson Matuszak. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, Gay, Skelton and Mayor Cline Nays: None l~. Council considered a resolution naming a Sesquicenten~ial chairman and approving "the Sesquicentennial Master Plan. The Mayor introduced Dr. Clyde Smith, chairman of the Ses- quicentennial celebration, who gave an entertaining and informative presentation on ;.the Sesquicentennial celebration and what our area has planned. After the presentation, the City Attorney r.ead: Resolution 84-15 - A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, APPROVING AND ADOPTING THE MASTER PLAN SUB- MITTED BY THE SESQUICENTENNIAL COORDINATING COMMITTEE OF LA PORTE, TEXAS, DIRECTING SAID COMMITTEE TO SUBMIT SAID MASTER PLAN TO THE TEXAS SESQUICENTENNIAL COMMISSION AND DECLARING AN EFFECTIVE DATE. Motion was made by Councilperson Skelton to adopt Resolution 84-15 as read by the City Attorney. Second by Counci1person Matuszak. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Matuszak, Pfeiffer, ,Gay, Skelton and Mayor Cline Nays: None 19. There were no Administrative Reports. 20. Council Action Skelton: Reminded Council of his need for their comments for TML legislative policy committee on financing municipal affairs. Cline: Reported that the City had done very well with 'the MDA this year, especially with the help of the Pasadena-Bay Area Te1ecommunicators and Sue Lenes. About $1600 was raised. It shows her that La Porte cares, and she looks forward to the City's same enthusiasm in supporting the Sesquicentennial celebration. ~
