<br />,... <br /> <br />....... <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />e <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Minutes, Public Hearings and Regular Meeting <br />La Porte City Council <br />October 3, 1984, Page 13 <br /> <br />City Attorney Askins read: ORDINANCE 1415 DENYING THE <br />APPLICATION OF HOUSTON LIGHTING AND POWER COMPANY TO CHANGE <br />RATES TO BE CHARGED IN THE CITY OF LA PORTE. <br /> <br />Motion Has made by Councilperson Pfeiffer to adopt Ordinance <br />1415 ~nying application of Hou~Q.D.-Lighting and Power Company <br />to change rates to be charged in-the City of La Porte. <br />'Second by Councilperson Waters. The motion carried 7 ayes and <br />o nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Bridges, Waters, Pfeiffer, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />19. <br /> <br />Council considered Resolution on Harris County Appraisal <br />District (Res. No. 84-18) <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Motion was made bY Councilperson Skelton t2-SQprove the <br />Resolution No. 84-18 disapproving the budget adopted by the <br />Harris County A~isal District; finding compliance with <br />the Open Meetin&A-Law; and oroviding an effective date her~. <br />Second by Councilperson Waters. The motion carried, 7 ayes and <br />o nays. . <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Bridges, Waters, Pfeiffer, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />20. Council considered adopting Resolution No. 84-19 regarding <br />evidence of financial responsibility for sanitary landfill <br />site. <br /> <br />Assistant Director of Public Works Steve Gillett explained <br />that as part of the process to apply for a permit to operate <br />a solidwaste disposal facility, the Texas Department of Health <br />requires all applications to give assurances of financial <br />responsibility to provide assets to properly operate and <br />eventually close the site to Health Department standards. <br />Assurances are also required that the applicant will accept r' <br />responsibility for proper operation and eventual closure. <br /> <br />As the applicant, the City of La Porte is required to pass <br />a Resolution accepting financial and operational responsibility <br />to operate the proposed disposal facility. <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />.... <br /> <br />... <br />
