The motion carried, 7 ayes <br />and 0 nays. <br /> <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Malone, Bridges, Waters, Pfeiffer, <br />Skelton, Westergren and Mayor Cline <br />Nays: None <br /> <br />13. <br /> <br />Council considered authorizing design services and <br />additional service to Turner Collie & Braden Engineering <br />Contract (Design of relief trunk sewer and wastewater <br />treatment plant expansion). <br /> <br />. <br /> <br />Mayor Cline called on Director of Community Development <br />John Joerns to discuss the topic. Mr. Joerns stated that the <br />Engineering department had completed a report on this <br />contract. He stated the report included information on <br />Fairmont Parkway relief sewer and wastewater treatment plant. <br />He stated that the final estimate on the relief sewer was 4.18 <br />million dollars and the main wastewater treatment plant <br />expansions is 3.06 million dollars. He said both figures were <br />slightly less than had been anticipated. <br /> <br />Mr. Joerns stated that sections of the recommendations both <br />reports are consistent with those presented in the Master Plan, <br />and are consistent with the improvement proposed and required <br />and that staff is happy with them and ready to proceed with the <br />final design. <br /> <br />Mayor Cline asked if ~here were questions of Mr. Joerns. She <br />stated that the authorization for this project is $320,400.00 <br />dollars. <br /> <br />It was discussed that there is $252,000.00 for engineering <br />services, basic services to Turner Collie & Braden, who <br />produced two projects and there is an additional $68,400.00 <br />dollars for special services which include the survey work for <br />both the sewer and plant and the geotechnical investigation <br />which includes the soil investigations for these projects. <br />H.
