The motion <br />carried, 5 ayes and 1 nay. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Skelton and <br />Mayor Malone <br />Nays: Councilperson Westergren <br />9. Council considered adopting an ordinance appointing a chairman <br />of the Planning and Zoning Commission. <br />The City Attorney read: ORDINANCE 1445 - AN ORDINANCE <br />APPOINTING A CHAIRMAN OF THE CITY OF LA PORTS PLANNING AND <br />ZONING COMMISSION FOR THE TERM EXPIRING APRIL 30, 987 <br />• <br />Motion was made ~ Councilperson S elton to adopt Ordinance <br />144tas read by the City_Attornev. Second by Councilperson <br />Westergren. The motion carried, 6 ayes and 0 nays. <br />Ayes: Councilpersons Walker, Matuszak, Waters, Skelton, <br />Westergren and Mayor Malone <br />Nays: None <br />10. Council considered awarding a bid for bank sand. This item <br />had been tabled from the meeting of May 20 at the request of <br />Councilperson Lloyd. The City Secretary stated she had been <br />in contact with Mr. Lloyd and he was willing to put the item <br />back on the agenda at this time, even though he would not be <br />able to be present at the meeting. <br />Motion was made ~ Councilperson Westergren to award the bid <br />for bank sand to R.S.H. Trucking Co., Inc., in the amount of <br />~4_4~_per cubic vard,~ and award a continency supply agreement <br />to Baytown Sand and Clay in the amount of $4 50 per cubic <br />ard. Second by Councilperson Skelton.
